This commode holds vast amounts of China with ease, and looks absolutely incredible doing so! Fantastic condition, with limited blemishes from age and use, the veneers are holding strong with some side pock marks but otherwise a barely blemished floral front. The serpentine marble pink top is similarly unblemished and possibly even original given the prevalence with which this stone was used in 19th and 20th century reproductions. The brass ormolu mounts are in similarly strong condition, overall this is a really lovely piece in its prime. Would not recommend for daily use do to its age and style, but would function well for additional storage in a dining or living room. Yes, this basket has a belt and suspenders. When we say storage doesn’t have to be boring, even we did not have this piece in mind. And yet!
